We’re a sports betting index fund.
Using a mathematical model three entrepreneurs from the worlds of DFS, Big Data, and coaching, have identified advantages in basketball betting markets (I’m Ben. I’m the one who used to coach professional basketball overseas).
Using these advantages we make small bets, a maximum of 1% of our principal per bet, on inefficiently priced basketball games.
Because our betting amounts are so small there is relatively little exposure of principal (in betting markets principal is known as “bankroll”). The most picks we have offered on one day was 14 so the maximum bankroll exposure was 14%.
Over time the combination of these small bets and the edge we have identified in the way basketball games are priced has led, so far, to positive Return on Investment (ROI).
Our Year-to-Date ROI, from the project start date on February 6, 2021 through September 4, 2021, is 47.3%.
By comparison, the YTD ROI of the S&P 500, from January 1, 2021 through August 31, is 20.6%.
For more detail, you can read my “Letter to Shareholders” here.
In addition to running our own bankroll we offer this newsletter where people can use our picks to make their own bets. We send out a daily email with the bets we are making for that day.
Our goal is to have this newsletter be a paid subscription newsletter, capped at 200 paid subscribers, where people can use our picks, at our recommended betting amounts, to create their own profitable sports betting index fund on relatively little exposure.
Currently, the newsletter is free as we build our sign-ups.
If you would like to follow along with our project but don’t plan on betting, or you don’t want to receive an email every day from us, we have a separate newsletter, our monthly “Letter to Shareholders,” here. This newsletter is sent once a month.
Our first letter was a review of August, 2021.
